Day 66 (2/Dec/2017): Puente Ulla to Santiago (22km)

A quick breakfast at the petrol station by the albergue in Puente Ulla and off up the hill with views of misty valleys. At Outeiro I came across a Spanish couple and walked with them briefly, then spotted Juan Jose and Lidia, the Spanish and Italian walkers that I met before Ourense – Hoped that we might walk into Santiago as a group of five but ended up as a three.
We stopped for coffee about 10km before Santiago and the cafe owner proudly showed us the beautiful albergue with underfloor heating that she’s building. And then we walked to Santiago – I have a mix of feelings as you can imagine. Sadness that this adventure is coming to an end and satisfaction that I made it. The long journey is completed and I have achieved the “goal” that I set for myself.
